Mr. Dancealot
This was a very informative video that proves that there is more to teaching than reading a power point. Students need to not only understand the concept of the information being taught but also how to perform the information being taught. Mr. Dancealot never kept his students interested in the subject being taught nor did he encourage interaction with the students. Mr. Dancealot may need a few improvements in his teaching skills.

Teaching in the 21st century
Roberts thinks that  teaching in the 21st century is about taking advantage of the technology that is offered within the classroom.. It is about getting the students involved in something that they will need to know how to use for the rest of their lives. To Roberts it is not only about using the technology but about  getting the children engaged in the work that they must do. Roberts sees teaching changing in a positive way if we start using more technology in the classrooms. He also believes that technology will get both the student and teacher more involved, and will also make the students learn in a way that just using a power point or lecture couldn't do. I believe that Roberts is absolutely right about using technology in the classroom. Students need to be shown how to use the technology around us because it will only help them in the future. Technology will affect every teacher and how they teach in the near future. There are already schools that use lots of technology in its classrooms today, and the numbers are only going to rise. So, future educators need to already know how to use and take advantage of the technology in the classroom.

The Networked Student
The student uses many resources to create a knowledge base that will help  expand his or her knowledge of American Psychology far beyond textbooks. With the help of his supportive teacher the student is able to set up a network of other students. This network of other students will widen the students diversity of the subject. The student then researches his topic and creates a blog. Itunes can also be an useful tool when researching because it contains informative podcast. In this blog other students may comment leaving their opinions and knowledge. These useful ways of technology has helped the student broaden his knowledge of American Psychology. These skills are the future of the 21st century.

Harness Your Students’ Digital Smarts
Vicki Davis has taught her students experience and  trends. They have become students with a new perspective. No pencil or paper is needed in her class because, as stated by Vicki, only certain types of children will succeed with paper and pencil. Computer based learning will help every child succeed, and every child will learn to use the technology. Information technology has grown so much in today’s society, and it is simply computer based learning. With computer based learning, students like Vicki’s class will be able to learn how to blog, post research, connect to the web and share ideas. It also allows them to meet new people, and learn many things like definitions to words that they never used or heard before. Technology is very essential for all present and future educators and students.

  1. Hi Victoria!

I agree that Mr. Dancealot should learn better teaching strategies. He did not interact at all! I have had a few professors like this, and it is awful. They expect you to just sit and listen to their monotone voice lecture but do not give any aid or actual structure for learning. As a teacher I will NOT use this style of teaching. I think Roberts has a very vivid plan for a school in the clouds. He was taught a valuable lesson by the children, if you give someone the proper materials they can teach themselves infinite amounts of knowledge. I agree with your comment "future educators need to already know how to use and take advantage of the technology in the classroom." This is so true. Educators need to get on board because technology is already so fast paced- teachers will either learn and manage technology or they will be left behind. I really like you (and your group's) insight on these videos. I wish there were some visuals, though. Maybe you could add the links to the videos and a few visual aides... Thanks for sharing!
